Voice input

Typing a paragraph of context on a phone is unpleasant enough that you write less than you mean to. Dictation fixes that, and the prompts get better because you stop economising.

Tap the mic in the command bar and talk. The transcript appears live while you speak, in a bubble over the terminal — you can see the words landing and stop when you have said enough.

Review it, edit if needed, then send.

The Watch can answer an agent’s question by dictation, straight from the notification. For the common case — an agent asking something while you are away from both your Mac and your phone — this is the shortest path from question to answer that exists here.

Transcription uses your own OpenAI API key, entered once in the app. Offsite does not run a speech service and does not proxy your audio.

One setup step, and your recordings go to a provider you already have an account with.

Live transcription streams while you talk. If the connection is not good enough for that, Offsite falls back to recording the clip and transcribing it in one request — slower to appear, but it does not lose what you said.

  • Live mode streams PCM audio to a realtime transcription session; the fallback posts the finished recording to the REST transcription endpoint.
  • The transcript bubble is rendered at card level, not inside the command bar, so the terminal does not resize while you dictate.
  • The Watch path runs through the paired iPhone, like everything else on the Watch.
  • Words land in the prompt as you speak them, so you can see and edit the text before it goes anywhere.
